Your McDonough Rams showed up and showed out yesterday at the Maryland 1A Regional Meet. Many of your classmates qualified for the Maryland 1A State Final later this month.

Here are a few highlights from the meet. The Girls 4×2 consisting of Senior Captain Breanna Perry, Cheyenne Johnson, Alliayah Ottley and Tamia Webb qualified for States finishing 3rd with a time of 1:50.90. Breanna also qualified for the State Meet in her other 2 events, posting personal records of 7.55 in the 55 meter dash, and 43.31 in the 300 meter dash.

Freshman Distance Runner Kavina McDonald qualified for the State Final in the 1600 meter run. She PR’d in the mile with a time of 6:05.24 finishing in exciting fashion winning 3rd place. Kavina’s Freshman running partner Rowan Buzo narrowly missed States finishing 5th, but she also Pr’d in this event with a time of 6:10.28. Freshman runner Jalyn Smoot Pr’d in the 500 with a time of 1:32.73. These young runners just keep getting better and better.
